Job Summary: The Research Manager assembles updates and oversees the components of the research library and all necessary materials in order to complete the fulfillment of all research inquiries in an accurate and timely manner. The Research Manager must be familiar with partnering organizations and be able to generate appropriate research to meet specific and customized requests.

Job Duties:
Research Publications
  • Creates, assembles, updates and oversees all EDCUTAH research publications such as the Business & Economic Profile, industry profiles, county profiles, Utah-at-a-Glance and others.
  • Maintains a schedule for updating all research publications.
  • Oversees the repurposing of all research publications for the EDCUTAH website.
Custom Research
  • Manages the collection of information necessary for the fulfillment of all research requests.
  • Manage the Research Assistant and interns as needed.
  • Ensures that all necessary sources of information are collected, organized, and updated.
  • Ensures accurate and timely responses to all research inquiries, including the preparation of operating cost models, economic impact models, and customized package requests.
  • Oversees the training and research workload for the Administrative Assistant who acts as the Research Manager’s backup.
  • Responsible for oversight of responses to inquiries received via the EDCUTAH website.
  • Tracks and reports monthly numbers of research inquiries, cost models, retail analysis reports, impact models, and business listing searches.
  • Responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with research partners throughout the state of Utah.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Marketing, Business Administration, Communications or other related field and/or 1-3 years previous experience.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint) Critical knowledge of Illustrator and Mac software preferred.
  • Proven track record to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail, prioritizing workload, team player, and excellent organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated self-starter with ability to communicate effectively and accurately both in written and verbal form.
  • Proficiency in statistical methods and techniques, database management and spreadsheets.
  • Ability to progressively analyze economic trends and provide relevant perspective to the organization.
