This is a career service exempt job located within the Office of the Inspector General of Medicaid Services. Incumbents in this job are non-classified, and exempt from 67-19-12. Incumbents in this job title are required to be placed in a position schedule of AS. This is a working level job where incumbents perform a full range of audit tasks under general supervision. Audits for this level are more complex than those performed at level I. Incumbents audit one or more of the following areas to ensure compliance with applicable state and federal regulations and determine effectiveness of procedures: fiscal data, accounting systems and records, taxes, grant compliance, employer compliance with Utah Employment Security Act, motor vehicle functions, domestic and foreign insurance companies, or other department activities. Other duties include preparing summaries and reports, making recommendations for improvement, and assessing penalties where appropriate.
