International Trade Services Fellow (at World Trade Center Utah)

Location: Salt Lake City, Utah

Position Characteristics: Full-time (40 hours) fellowship, term limited (1-year position)

Salary: 15-$18/hour depending on education and experience. Fellows are eligible to participate in WTC Utah’s Simple IRA Retirement Savings Plan.

Description: The mission of World Trade Center Utah (WTC Utah) is to help Utah companies think, act and succeed globally. WTC Utah accomplishes this mission through three key objectives. First is to motivate and educate Utah businesses to expand their global presence through training seminars, regional forums and newsletters focused on international business development, trade issues and export opportunities. Second is to build capacity of Utah businesses for international trade through B2B consultations to identify expansion goals, assess current capabilities, determine overseas opportunities and connect companies with market experts and potential partners. Third is to expand global network of Utah businesses through trade missions and networking with foreign trade diplomats.

Position Overview: These fellowship positions offer an array of professional experience in a fast-paced and rewarding environment. Incumbents will interface directly with clients and partners in the public and private sectors.

 International Trade Services Fellowship responsibilities include:
·  Utilize online trade/business databases to provide market research and analysis on international business opportunities to Utah companies. Databases include the following: Datamyne, USATrade online, UniWorld, BMI, and Hoovers. 
·  Generate comprehensive business reports through the use of pivot tables, VLOOKUP, index & match, arrays, IF statements, and count formulas
·  Identify and build relationships with potential clients and service providers
·  Update and maintain CRM
·  Draft articles and other written documents
·  Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications:
-Bachelor or master degree in business, government or related fields Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
-Consistent demonstration of responsibility and initiative
-Creative problem solving abilities
-Ability to complete tasks on time and with high quality

Anticipated Start Date:
