Steven C. Echard, IOM, CAE
Steven C. Echard is a Certified Association Executive (CAE*) and Graduate of the Institute of Organizational Management (IOM) at UCLA. He has served as Executive Director of several medical/scientific professional societies and medical research foundations. He also has experience leading key functions in association management as the Director for Government Affairs, Research, Training & Workforce, Administration and Governance.
Mr. Echard currently serves as the Executive Director of the Rheumatology Research Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization which funds more than $16 million per year in rheumatic disease research. He has also served as Executive Director for three other professional societies:
ê  American Society for Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (ASHI)
ê  OsteoArthritis Research Society International (OARSI)
ê  Society For Biomaterials (SFB)
Mr. Echard is currently serving as Chair of the CAE Commission and has been very active in the nonprofit community most notably with the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE). He is the recipient of several nonprofit awards including: ASAE Power Associations (Gold Award) and the President’s Award for Outstanding Service from the Georgia Society of Association Executives (GSAE). He has served as a faculty member and speaker in a number of leadership programs in the non-profit sector including:  New Medical Executives Institute (AAMSE), Institute for Organization Management (US Chamber of Commerce), and the GSAE Leadership Academy. He has published many articles in non-profit trade magazines and he has been an invited speaker at the ASAE Annual Conference for each of the last five years.
