Performance Audit Intern

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Under a lead auditor’s close supervision, Performance Audit Interns work for a minimum of one semester to assist in conducting performance audits and following up on previously issued audit reports of state agencies and programs. Interns gather information and help identify areas of inquiry, perform audit procedures to obtain evidence, prepare well-documented work papers, assess and formulate findings and appropriate recommendations in compliance with government auditing standards, and assess state agency efforts to implement recommendations made in audit reports. In addition, interns may orally communicate work results and draft written audit findings that meet professional and office standards for clarity and completeness. We will work with you to select a schedule within normal business hours that works best with your class schedule. As an intern, you can expect to gain the following:
