Salary: $120,000 to $153,000 commensurate with experience
Statement of Responsibility: This is an Executive Leadership position as Library Administrator of an urban library system comprised of a Main Library and seven community branches. The position is appointed by the Salt Lake City Public Library Board of Directors, an independent policy-making body that is responsible for the planning, implementation, oversight, and evaluation of all library services and programs. The position is responsible for financial management, identifying and implementing operational efficiencies, and evaluating library programs and processes. Responsibilities also include maintaining productive intergovernmental and community relations, strategic planning, promoting team-building, creating positive employee relations, planning and budgeting for all operational needs, and implementation of appropriate technologies in a public library environment
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Essential duties and responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):
- Monitor activities, organization, and costs of an event and make modifications as necessary
- Develop and effectively manage program timelines to ensure timely completion of program deliverables
- Identify tools, resources, and best practices to help improve the ongoing success of the D. Gary Young Foundation
- Develop presentations and other materials for use during program-related events and meetings
- Serve as programmatic liaison to external partners
- Executive level management experience with five years progressively responsible positions in the public sector, preferably in an urban environment.
- Master’s degree in library science, public administration, business administration, human resource management, or related field.
