Job Summary:
Directs and develops initiatives to improve quality, financial viability, sustainability and efficiency of services offered by the business unit. Facilitates business unit planning by developing and maintaining strategic analytical and financial tools. Collaborates with other UTA departments to make recommendations on strategic variables such as definition of new markets, service standards, benchmarking, pricing/fare policies, and customer satisfaction. Develops and maintains effective monitoring and measurement methods to analyze the performance effectiveness of the business unit and identifies actionable areas for improvement. Reviews, analyzes and interprets financial data to drive operational budget performance. Assists in the creation of annual budgets, budget metrics, key performance indicators and strategic objectives for the business unit. Organizes and teaches process improvement training throughout the business unit. Coaches and mentors on improvement projects. Serves as an integral member of the business unit leadership team.
Education/Training: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations Research, Finance, or a related/relevant field. Master’s degree in a business related field is preferred.
Experience: Four years previous analytical experience in operations performance. Must be able to perform highly technical analytical work without frequent supervision including collecting and interpreting data using statistical and other analytical tools and models. Will be required to perform technical work, individually or as the member of a project team. Occasionally, after hours and/or weekend work will be required.
-Knowledge: Knowledge and training in ISO, LEAN and Six-Sigma principles preferred.
-Skills: Must demonstrate strong critical and logical reasoning skills. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills. Microsoft Office proficiency at an intermediate level in Word and Powerpoint; at an advanced level in Excel; and at a standard level in Outlook. Intermediate proficiency in Access preferred.
-Abilities: Must show ability to understand, articulate and advocate for business recommendations and financial solutions. —OR— An equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience. (UTA reserves the right to determine the equivalencies of education and experience
