Job Description

The Intern position will include day-to-day oversight of the agency’s CDBG program.  The intern will also provide technical assistance to the regional planners as it relates to community planning and the effectiveness of the CDBG program.  Finally, the intern will be expected to provide IT services for agency.

Qualifications

 Should have good computer skills with working knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, ARC GIS. Knowledge of other GPS applications a plus.  Must have good oral and written communication skills.  Must possess the ability to work with and for mayors and/or town/city councils. Must have good organizational skills and the ability to work long hours.  A working knowledge of budgets, contract compliance, general planning practices, terminology, planning and zoning laws and regulations.  Must possess the ability to write grants, and understand and comply with grant requirements.  Must have interpersonal skills, i.e. tact, patience and courtesy and the ability to work with all levels of government.
