JOB DESCRIPTION:
Ayni seeks interns interested in Central Asian Studies who are
self-starters and can work independently in the fields of website and social
media content, grants, database management, fundraising and/or development. Interns will help Ayni build its social media
following, bridge coordination between domestic and foreign operations, refine
public relations material, build donor database, identify grant opportunities, write
grant proposals, and report directly to the Executive Director with other
activities as needed.

OPPORTUNITIES:
These internship positions will provide someone interested in Central
Asian Studies insight into life in Muslim countries, Afghan culture, and the impact
of the Islamic government. You will gain
substantial experience in nonprofit development and management, building
communications strategies, grant writing, events planning, and researching
donor prospects. Duties include, but are
not limited to, the following:

Coordinating
domestic and foreign operations of an international non-profit
·
Updating
& developing content for Ayni’s website, Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest
accounts
·
Research new
foundations/grants to apply for funding
·
Assist in
editing of proposals and reports
·
Help in
writing minor proposals and reports
·
Organizing
awareness and fundraising events
·
Maintain
database records
·
Knowledge of
Afghanistan/Middle East preferred
·
Sensitivity
to cultural differences
·
Knowledge of
Sales Force data base a plus, but not mandatory
·
Excellent
computer skills, adept at learning new databases quickly
·
Outstanding
attention to detail
·
Strong
organizational abilities
·
Strong
writing and verbal communication skills
·
Laptop
computer
·
Interest
in a nonprofit career
