From an MPA Alumnus:
Dear Colleagues,
If you know someone looking for a
great job in local government, please keep reading.
There is a Compensation Analyst
position open with the City of Boise. The listed salary range is $58k to $68k.
You can find the full job description here: http://agency.governmentjobs.com/boiseid/default.cfm
. The application deadline is January 31, 2014.
I have worked in the Comp Analyst
role for just over a year and it has been a great fit for me. The City of Boise
operates 12 departments and employs roughly 1,600 full-time personnel. The
hiring manager for this recruitment is specifically looking for candidates with
analytical and Excel skills, so don't be intimidated by the HR specific questions
and requirements. If you have a strong analytical aptitude, if you know Excel
pivot tables and how to work with functions like "VLOOKUP", then I
recommend applying for the position.
The Comp Analyst position has
opened opportunities for me to work with department directors and the city's
top senior managers. These interactions have opened a new opportunity as the
City's Planning and Development Services Financial Manager. I will promote to
that position in February, and that is why the City is looking for a new Comp
Analyst.
If any of you have follow-up
questions, please send them my way. This is a great job opportunity, and I hope
this announcement reaches the right group of people.
Sincerely,
Biff Jones
