Prior to his appointment as City Manager of Centerville, Thacker served as City Administrator of Canon City, Colorado from 1989 to 1998. Other career experience includes serving as Town Manager of Snowflake, Arizona from 1983 to 1989; and serving as a Performance Auditor of the State of Arizona’s Auditor General’s Office from 1978 to 1983. Thacker is the Past President of the Utah City Management Association, and the Past President of the BYU Alumni and Friends in City Management Association. Thacker is a graduate of the BYU Master’s of Public Administration program. In that program he earned the award of “Outstanding MPA Graduate.” Thacker is married to Pamela Smith; they have six children ranging in ages from 14 to 24.
