Description: This job is designed to provide students with paid professional experience to further their education and training and is academically oriented for the student’s benefit.   To qualify students must be enrolled in an accredited school program related to the type of work they are expected to perform.  Positions will terminate upon completion of the internship period.  Incumbents may deal with confidential information, which is expected to be maintained as confidential and shared only on a need-to-know basis with city employees and elsewhere when authorized by the intern’s city supervisor.  Collects data and reviews research materials, determines accuracy and validity of sources and appropriateness for use.  Designs, develops, and conducts a variety of research projects; determines appropriate methodologies, information sources, sampling strategies, and data-collection tools, etc. Performs research activities by utilizing computer software to obtain and manipulate data. Writes or drafts technical reports, articles or related material based on research, investigation or analysis. Other tasks as assigned. Complies with city and department policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university, though summer internships may not require concurrent enrollment if student is in good standing with the educational institution.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Must have good organizational and analytical skills.
Must have good computer skills.

Digital Inclusion Fellow Position: United Way of Utah County

Description: The Digital Inclusion Fellowship is a one-year program that will recruit emerging leaders from digitally divided communities to work towards increasing digital literacy and broadband adoption in their cities. This group of leaders will be trained on best practices of digital inclusion work and community mobilization. Fellows will participate as a cohort nationally in trainings, attend local and national events, and serve as advocates for digital inclusion. Each Fellow will work with a local City Host organization to address local barriers to digital inclusion.

United Way of Utah County seeks a Digital Inclusion Fellow who will be responsible for expanding the scope and impact of adult digital literacy programming. This effort may involve: carrying out needs assessments; identifying, adapting or developing curriculum to suit community needs; developing new service locations; expanding digital literacy offerings in terms of frequency, location, or language; localizing,; recruiting, training, and managing volunteers; training staff; developing and deploying outreach strategies to recruit participants; providing digital literacy training and tutoring to adults; developing partnerships; working with partners to coordinate and leverage resources; as well as performing additional duties as identified by NTEN and United Way of Utah County. The Fellow will be responsible for project planning, monitoring, and reporting.
